Farewell Room 19

Kia Ora, my name is Ane Vili and I am in room 19. I am a year 7 at Pt England School and I am 11 year's old. I am looking forward to being a year 8 next year.

I just want to say good bye to my year 8 friends because they are leaving next year.  So my friends are Andrea, Richard and Te Rina.  I'm going to miss your laughing Andrea and going miss your laziness Richard.

I want to say good bye to Miss Tito because I'm not going to be in her class. I'm going to miss your growlings and your whistle that hurts my ears thanks your the best teacher in the senior block.

I am going to be in a studio next year when I turn a year 8 with my friends Chloe, Martha, Wakatere and my sister Sarona. We are making a studio for Hip Hop. Because me and my big sisters and little sister were in a Hip Hop group called Youth Pride and we want our own group.

This year I have enjoyed being with Room 19, It was really fun. I don't want to leave all the drama's in the class. This is actually the second best class I ever had, the first was Room 8 with Miss Wood. I am really going to miss everything about this class like the AWESOMENESS!

Reflection

My netbook connected   to internet has helped me a lot with my writing, maths, art and reading. I just search some questions like when was Nelson Mandela born how was his childhood. 

One time I worked on my maths book. Then did my Mental maths on their an their was a shape that I couldn't find out how many sides did it have. So I searched it up on google and it had 6 sides and it was hexagon.

The special thing that my teacher tot me was silent ball  is was a fun game when the whole class played it together.

I didn't know how to import when I was five years old but I just watch my old teacher Miss Gorge and I didn't know how to draw spell that much then other kids do. 

My friend has tot me how to do a status on my email  change my profile  and how to do smile facers.

Miss Nua has been teaching how to read and fix my work. She teaches me how to spell. 

I have tot how hyperlink their checklist and their tick so Miss Tito can see our work. So we can do some of cool   stuff  instead  of my work.




   

Reflection

Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela was born in July the 18th 1918 mvezo South Africa. He died  December the 6th 2013.  He has five children and their names are Makaziwe Mandela, Zenani Mandela, Makgatho Mandela, Madiba Thembekile Mandela, Zindziswa Mandela. He changed the world with freedom hating people and racism. He helped people become a legend.

In his early childhood Nelson Mandela lived in  Village named Tranzskiy.He is the son of Noqaphi Nosekeni and Nkosi Mphakanyiswa Gadla Mandela. Nelson Mandela father died in 1927. Nelson Mandela went to high school at Healdtown Methodist Boarding School.

apartheid was growing stronger and new laws were passed by which told them where they had to live and work, but Nelson Mandela tried to fighting back. He claimed he hoped that he will bring down the oppressive government, and rebuild the country based on, freedom, and above all, equality.

So committed to equality, Mandela said  at the same time that “ it’s an ideal which i hope to live for and to achieve, But if it has to be an ideal I am ready to die.”                                  

Nelson Mandela was arrested in 1962 after being on the run 17 months. After 27 year Nelson Mandela was released of being imprisoned, and talks to form a multi-racial democracy were set to begin.

Nelson Mandela died by his age 95 they sad news to here. Nelson Mandela had three wife’s  their names  are Grace Machel, Evelyn Mase and Winnie Madikizela Mandela.

Action World

On Friday the 6th the year 7’s went to Action World and the year 8’s are gone to camp. It was my first time I went to Action World. We are going by a bus and we had to come to school before 8.00 all else we might get left behind. Action World is in Henderson in North.

While we were waiting for the bus we were playing with our friends and talking to each other and having fun. The bus arrived and we had to go to the back so the other people can come. It didn’t take that long to get there while we were in the bus we played some hand games with our friends.

I think the bus driver was getting annoyed because we were talking to loud but it wasn’t only us. We left at 9:00 and I don’t know when we got there. When we got there we had to get off the bus and follower the teacher. I saw what Action World look like and I thought it was going to be boring but it wasn’t.

The first thing we had to do was take our shoes off listen to the rules and then go with your class to do your first activity. Our first activity was rock climbing it was fun so I released it was fun. While I was finished I watched the other people do the monkey bars it was funny when they Me, Wakatere and my sister Kathleen were laughing we couldn't help it.

After it was their turn it was our turn on the monkey bars. It was my turn to go on the monkey bars my sister said i’m gonna laugh at you now. So I said” but i’m not going to try then she said  you better I fell in the first monkey bar. So I tried it again and then did it. Then it was eating time after we ate we had free time. So I went to go and vs my friend on this fighting thing we got up and then Chloe  hit me on the face haha and I fell of.

The best thing was doing Front Flip and yeah all the things I had a really nice time at Action World. It was time to go home and say good bye to the teacher’s that work at Action World it was boring to leave Oh Well we're going to school now

My Favourite High Lights

         

1. Playing Basketball

Every Thursday after lunch we got to go play Basketball. Its my best sport to play I always played with my friends and cousins at school.   

2.Running 

On Friday we had to go to run,Slade and ride. But first we Slade and then ride run. It was fun but I was to shy to do it.

 3. Harakeke 

On Monday we went to go past the field and then we go to pick some.  But first we had to listen to the rules. It was very fun.

Typhoon destroys the Philippines

A powerful typhoon has hit the Philippines and there are 300 people reported dead.  The country was hit over the weekend by the strongest  winds of more than 200 miles an hour. Many buildings have been destroyed and the whole streets have been left underwater. The rescue teams are heading to parts of the Philippines that was hit hard by the Typhoon.

What in the world went on this week ?

Earlier this week close to half a million people were evacuated from their homes in Eastern India because of the threat of cyclone. meanwhile in pakistan a major  earthquake of magnitude 7.8 created a whole new island. Across the ocean of the southern californian coast a marine science instructor  found the carcass of a 5 meter long oarfish. check it out

Technology @ Tamaki Collage

I am going to talk about  Technoelgy for the people who don't know what is is. Well the year 7s have Technology @ Tamaki Collage. What we do there we do Art, Cook, or Making Neck- less. I am in Art with my best friend Chloe. Mr Nobel is our art teacher he is a good artist kind and not mean.

Well when I first went to Technology @ Tamaki Collage this man told us were to go. He called out peoples names and they have to go to there teacher. I was with Mr Grundy he was the doing Wood. So we went off and he interdictions he self to us.

The first thing we had to do was write some rules he gave us some peace of paper. The rules was don't play with tools their not toys. The other rules were don't hit anyone with the tools. Their was other stuff but to long. Mr Grundy said what are the rules.

People said the wrong stuff well so they were not listening. Mr Grundy said it's the first day so I will let you off. Well we got started to do wood and make  chairs trains and other stuff. It was cool but then there was the same people that got in trouble it wasn't what I thought that it was going to happened.

So me and my friend Chloe was making a chair. It was hard but then it got easier and funnier my mum wouldn't let me touch a strangle hummer. While me and Chloe put our names on the bored for help we were shy to put it up but he said don't be shy. Because if you do u would not finish your work. It was time to leave.

Cross Country

Hi I am going to tell you about Cross Country today. On Thursday we had Cross Country. I like running I am use to running since I run for Cross Country. Cross Country is for when you run around the field. Well for the year 7’s we had to run on the field run out of the gates and go to the Pt England Reserve 2 times.
The first kids to run was the little year 1 then year 2 then keeps on going like that. Well for the year 7’s we had to wait it was getting really hot because the sun was shining on our faces. We the teacher’s decided to move into the shade. Finally we could see the people running and their legs were going fast at the start.

Some people were charging for the kids. The people were sitting and just laughing when they fall but would if it happened to them then how would they fell. They would actually be nervous we were charging for the people we know and our friends sister cousin or brother. 

It was fun running and yeah one of my friend came first and my other friend came Second . Me and my friends were shy to run but then we got used to it. Grace heart stopped and Mr Barks told her to come and she was crying I felt sad for her. Well we kept on going past Grace and thinking what happened.

In the holidays

In the holidays on Saturday  I went to  Rainbow End. For my friends Birthday and her name is Chloe
I went with her mum dad little brother and her cousin Brooklyn. The first thing we went on was the Pirate Ship.

Then we went on the Fear Fall Me,Chloe and her cousin Brooklyn went on the Fear Fall. We were waiting in line and it was our turn. So we went on we were going up and in 123456 it went down I was laughing cause Brooklyn was screaming while we were going down. Brooklyn was so scared we went off and she was talking fast and ME and Chloe told her to talk slow.

But she couldn't talk slow because she was scared. Well to me it was fun the next one was the power sage. While I was on it I was kinder scared but the someone started screaming so that kept me laughing again. The Next one was the roller coaster the line was beauty long but we waited not like we are just going to push in.

We had to meet Chloe's mum at the food place at 1:00 O'clock to have a feed. So we kept on going on the Fear Fall and we went on the bumping cars the we were bumping in to all of the people. But not the one with the Adult with a child cause we didn't want to be sad. Then we had to go and  meet Chloe's mum. After we went to Denny's at 6:00 so we had time to do something else.    

Prospective Student

Dangling from a rock on a steep mountain the boy had aching muscles. It was painful He kept on reminding himself  ‘I can make it’’. Finally he reached the top of the mountain and he was  relieved.

He looked up the distance  and saw the dojo. Just then he walked up to the solid Door. Suddenly the master came out and he pointed at the sign and he shut the door. The boy never saw the sign and he sat down, started to meditating till day and night but in the morning the master  pointed and shut the door.

The boy felt sad and tired but he closed his eyes. Then felt disheartened and got angry his palms were sweaty and turned into a fist he went to the solid door Kicked it open master came out.The boy began to show what he was made of and show what he can do and tell the master that I'm worthy to be in the karate school.

Just then he pointed at the sign again. He looked at it. It said ‘use the other entrance’’ he thought ‘Oh my god I knew that maybe not man  I was such a fool what was I thinking’’ he put his hands behind his back and smiled anxiously with embarrassment .

Rapunzel

Once upon a time there lived a girl named Rapunzel. She had long blonde hair. Her mother always told her not to trim her hair because every time when someone gets hurt they go to her and heals them for at least $600, but she doesn't  listen at all. Rapunzel was not  very kind and she was a really disrespectful girl. She never was allowed to go outside which is why she had a problem with respecting others.

One day she was so frustrated and tired that she wanted to go outside then she ran away from home and left a note on the dining table. The note said “hey mum I am coming back later but I just wanted to tell you I want to play outside, don't find me” Just then she told a lie but her mum didn't know that she was running away. Her mother was very worried and said to herself “I can't leave my daughter alone I must go and find her”.

She was looking for Rapunzel in the woods. When Suddenly she heard someone crying and it was her daughter she thought she was lost. Rapunzel hugged her mum and said “I will never be disrespectful I am really sorry”. Rapunzel listened to her mother and never ever was disrespectful. She loved her mother.

She lived in a tower, while her mum went out to gather some things to eat. the prince appears at the foot of the tower. Rapunzel saw him and let down her hair. The prince grabbed her hair with his hands and yanked it down. Rapunzel fell down into his arms. She and the prince ride away on a horse, suddenly they rode past her mum who shouts out “Rapunzel what are you doing?!” Rapunzel shouts back “You can keep my hair anyways!”. She then cuts her hair with a sword. Her Mum screams, her heart beat faster and faster, she suddenly turns white, her heart stops beating and she turns into dust and dies. Rapunzel look back at the dust and smiles “Thank you for taking care of me”.

THE END... AND THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER

Literacy Rotation

On Monday we had changes with the Senior Block. We Started at 8:30Pm, and we do Literacy. The first Teacher I had was Miss Tito.

We were doing Visual Art. Miss Tito was explaining things before we started. Then we had to draw a Koru. First we had a paper to draw on.

When we had finished we had to show Miss Tito. She “said yep now you can do your real Koru”. So I got a black paper and drew a Koru.

The next one we had to do is Kowhaiwhai. Kowhaiwhai is a maori pattern. The mean thing that I liked, was doing the Koru because it was easy. The Kowhaiwhai was ok to do but it was a bit hard.

Miss Tito put some on the wall after the Visual Art. It was time to clean up some people didn’t want to. They still wanted to finish of their work.

Fun Run

Last week the Senior block, has been running around the Pt England reserve. We had to run along the fence. I was running with my friends Chloe and Martha.The Teachers were timing us.
Ms Djamali said “On your marks, get set, GO!” and we all started running with our mates. While we were running we saw Anamei fall over, people were laughing at her. So she got back up and left her mates behind.

We were running on the muddy grass. It felt really yuck, our feet and our school shorts were getting muddy. When we got back we had to do another lap. 

We had to do another lap around the reserve because the teachers didn’t write our timing down. Me and my friends were tired but we kept going. We run around the Pt England reserve everyday after morning tea.

What My Friends Say About Me

On the last day of  Tearm we played a game. Everyone had to write something positive. We were not allowed to say something Negative about them. 

One thing that somebody said about me was that I was pretty awesome because I am Helpful. Anamei said I have such a  cheeky smile I think she said that because I have a nice smile.Henry said I was funny at tech. 

I thick he said that because I got in trouble from Mr Grandy. Me Chloe and Henry promised  that if one of us gets in trouble we will have too. Henry and Chloe got in trouble because they were running around. 

So I had to get in trouble I was playing with a pencil and he sent me out. And Mr Grandy said can you do me something then he said shut up. I was happy when someone said I am cool.

Fiafia Hip Hop 2013

For the past  5 weeks we have been Practising Hip Hop.On the 18th on Thursday we are going to dance in front of the kids and people. When I first saw the dance it looked heard to do.

We did it with people in other classrooms. While we practise the dance it was cool. It was my first time doing Hip Hop for the school. There are different kinds of other stuff like Drumming, singing, Dances and heaps of other stuff.

Some people was just standing and, looking at other people so they can get it right. I was getting the dance and it was cool. We kept on practising then we can get it right. After that we got it right, the cool thing was that everybody got it right.

Ane Graveyard Narrative

One afternoon it was my friends Birthday we went to the movies to celebrate her Birthday we watched a horror Movie. When we finished watching the Movie it was 10:00 so we walked home through the cemetery because the other way was to long. After watching a horror Movie it was like we were in the Movie because it looks like the same Cemetery on the horror Movie.

While walking through the Cemetery we all called hear something. It was just my friend called Chloe but she said she didn’t do anything. Then we all got scared  and then we were walking faster and faster it was getting louder and louder.

Then we looked behind us and it was just the man from the Cemetery. He said didn’t you read the sign no  and then he said’’ get out of here.’’ All I will kill you ha then we ran out of the Cemetery. When we went out of the Cemetery he called all of our names out loud. Then we said how did he know our names. So we walked home safely and happy.

School Picnic!

On a cold windy day our school went to the Beach because we were having a Picnic. We walked to Pt England Beach and Mr Burt. Was telling as what the rules were and telling as we are not allowed to go. While he finished telling as the rules. Me my friends Chloe and Martha went to go put our bags away to play.

Frist we went to the Beach. Then Mr Burt said Team 1 can go into the Beach to have a swim. After a while Mr Burt said Team 5 can go have a swim now. But then my friend Chloe said I never bring my togs. So only me and Martha and the other year 7 and 8 was swimming. After we finished we went to get changed. Then we were looking for Chloe because she was gone.

We find her but she run away from Me and Martha. We said "why did you run away"? She didn't answer back and she just started talking to Raleen and Ashlee. So we went to go take photos of the school playing. After we did that we went to go eat. Then Mr J said singing time people were singing and Mr J says next. After the singing we walked back to school and went home.

Learning about Compassion

What is Compassion? This year Pt England School is learning to be “Better Together” - “kia pai te kothai”. In room 19 we have been investigating  love, Compassion, Honesty and Tolerance. s Ms Tito (our teacher) gave us a task to select one of the words to write a definition and presents an example of what it means to our class. The reason we are learning about these things are to help us understand ourselves and others so we can be a better person today and in the future.
