Boxing Day

After Christmas it was Boxing Day. First  me and Sarona my sister was getting up and getting changed. Then Sarona ring my mum to come and pack as up she said ok. While we were waiting we ate our breakfast. Then she came to pack me and Sarona up from my Nanas house. So we went home and played  then we went to Sylvia pack. We were looking for a parking sport  then we  find one. Then we got out of the car so my mum said to my big sisters and brother to go and find some clothes or some shoes. So my mum took me and Sarona   to the  warehouse first. Me and Sarona got 50 dollies from our mum. Then my mum got togs and the same as me too.

On Christmas Day

On Tuesday the 25Th  it was Christmas I went to my Nana's house to celebrate Jesus birthday and Christmas. But first my sisters and mum was doing the banana cake and the potato salad. Then my mum does the  dishes  while we are waiting for the banana cake to be cooked. The cake was ready and the potato salad was ready too. We all got changed then we went to our Nana's house to celebrate and get some presents for us from my Nana. So we take the presents that we made and gave it to my Nanas and wait until our other family comes. After we ate me  my sisters and brother went to my dads house to go see him. Then after a while we went back to my Nana's to open our presents.  

Sunday Morning

On  Sunday me and  my sisters  Yvonne, Sarona and I. Went to our friends house, across the road. My sisters and I got our togs and towels.  

We went across the road, and got  into our togs. Then we  got the water gun. So we jumped in the pool, and played and swam around. We played with the water gun. Then we ate  salad and  jumped in the pool again. 

After that we got changed  and played on the trampoline. Then we went inside to play with the mice, in Sarah's room. The mice was small it was white brown and the  tail was pink .


We went into the pool again at night because we were hot. Then after we swam we went inside to go sleep because we were felling asleep in the pool. It was fun at my friends house.

Thinking Hats Reflection On Netbooks

When I first got my Netbook it was hard. I was a year five when I first got my Netbook. But then it got easier and easier. I've had it when I was 9 years old.

On your netbooks you have more choices of learning like Reading  
or Writing  or Maths. Instead of writing you can type on your Netbook. Our Netbooks are fun because you learn more faster.
You can share your work to your friends or teacher.

You can’t make movies on your Netbook. The Netbook keys pop out  easily. The tracker pad is hard to drew with. No animating and not enough programs to be creative.
 

I think that we need a better tax paint so we can animate on it. Having a Netbook it fun because you learn faster.

Staying At School

On Tuesday my class was going on camp to Kawau Island. But... too bad I didn’t go because I didn’t want to go. So the people who didn’t go we had to go to room 16.

   
Our Teacher was Mr Somerville and room 15 people came too because some were year 5 and some people didn’t go to camp. So room 15 went to Mr Somerville’s  classroom. Then he gave us 3  tasks to do and it was Xtra Maths, Maths Whizz (only for 100 minutes) but there was one more thing to do and it was our animation to put on our blogs. I tried my hardest to finish it all by  Friday, because on Friday it was the day we had to get everything finished.

We had to get our togs for swimming. The people who didn’t have their togs they had to get a book and sit down to read, when the other people went swimming. I was one of the people who didn’t bring their togs. My 2 friends Faaao and Taeshell didn’t bring their togs either.

From what I've heard, it sounds like camp was really fun.Even though I had a great week with Room 15 and Mr somerville. I will be going to camp Next Year.

Ane Triathlon Recount

Last Week, On Wednesday we had Triathlon we were doing water slide and going on the bikes. Whoever brought their togs they could go on the water slide.... But only some people brought their togs. So  some of the people had to run because they didn't bring their togs 5 times.

So we ran fast and got our bikes then raced it to the rope then hopped on it. We went around the flags and we had to go 2 times around the flags with the bike. When  I  finished  riding my bike get off my bike and run.

I run to put my bike back where it was and run to the finish line.
Then it was the boys turn to go on the waterslide and go on the bike. After they finished it was our turn again. So we had to do it all over again.

The mens names were Mark, Adrian and Brett they were fun. We learnt how to have fun. But sadly it was our last day with them.

It was our last time at the triathlon.  When I finished the race I was tired. It was fun and cool.

How To Make A Cake

  

The Bush

On day we went to the bush with Taeshell,Cheyanne,Faa’o and I. We all stop talking because we heard something coming from the bush. Taeshell and I said who is going to look to see if someone’s there. Then Cheyanne ‘’said’ ‘why’ ‘can’t’ Faa’o ‘go’ ‘and’ ‘look’.

We felt scared because we could see the bush moving and hearing things from the bush.
So we all went to go look but when we went to the bush it stop moving and we stop hearing things. So we were all happy that it stop but when we keep on talking it came again.

The problem was that we heard something coming from the bush we all said let all go and look again so we looked. Then we saw it and it was a little bird. We tried to get it out but it didn’t work.So we tried it one more time but it was hard because it keeps on moving.

Then we all said we did it. But the bird didn’t fly we said fly bird but it’s wing was broken. We felt sad for the bird because it’s wing’s was broken. So we called the vet because the birds wing was broken. We were happy because the vet fixed it wings and said to Taeshell,Cheyanne, Faa’o and I thank you and we said thank you.

The torch is brought into the Stadium and left there throughout the entire game. How did they light the torch? Well, they had to let the sun light it. The torch has to go to the stadium.

Do you know who takes the torch to the stadium? Well famous people do. I know that Mohammed R lee was one of the famous people that took the torch into the stadium.

The people Extinguished the torch when it was the final Olympic day.

Baron Pierre De Coubertin was the one who designed the Olympic Rings. The colours represents everybody in the world. They are interlocking because when the Olympics start everyone comes together and competes.The five colours are blue,black red,yellow green and it represents the colours of  the flags.

I have tried to copy Arcimboldo's style of art but I did it out of  flowers.

Starry Night Over The Rhone Art Reflection

I have been attempted to copy Vincent Van Gogh Starry Night Over The Rhone. He painted it in September 1888. He painted it with oil paint and the title is Starry Night Over The Rhone. I tried to copy his technique and style.

I think that the sky is the same as Vincent Van Gogh painting. I have been trying to get the same colour as Vincent Van Gogh colours and I did. It was quite a long time to copy the same colour as Vincent Van Gogh painting.

The part of my painting that I think is really different is the boat. I was supposed to do he boat brown but I did it black and I made it thick but Vincent Van Gogh made it smooth. The other thing that is different is the people because they are not the same,colour as Vincent Van Gogh colour.

I am happy with the colour because I am getting the right colours when I mix it.I am happy of my painting because I am getting it the same as Vincent Van Gogh.I am not happy
with the people because they are small and not the same painting as Vincent Van Gogh.

I could improve my work doing heaps of detail.What I could improve is do more practice on a piece of paper so I can get it all right. Another thing I can improve is the same colour as the people.

What I think about my painting that looks the same is the sky.But not the people because I did them small but I was supposed do them big like Vincent Van Gogh painting. My painting does not look like Vincent Van Gogh painting but only some.

Starry Starry Night

Starry Starry Night was painted in the year 1889, by the famous Vincent Van Gogh. He is a very talented artist. The size of Vincent Van Gogh picture is 73 x 92.

The objects are  the church and it is pointed like the tree.There are heaps of objects like the houses stars and the rolling hills.The other object are the moon. My best object are the koru pattern because it is a nice koru.

The main colour on this painting is blue, but the colour that makes it stand out is the colour yellow. I like the colour yellow because it stands out and it is a bright colour. I like the bright shining stars.

but I don’t like their poo.

I like   fish  but I don’t like their  small.  

Ane's Swimming

In the morning the class smells like chlorine and chemicals because our swimming togs.

The flutter boards helps us when we are in the water.

Rinsing off is what we have to do before we go into the swimming pool.

When I went for a shower and got out I was waiting for the kids in room 13 to get out of the pool I was really freezing.

When I get out of the pool the water was dripping wet it was cold.

When I swim for long I need to breath and go up so I can breath.

We splash with our legs so we can swim to the other side of the pool it is cool.It is our last day on Friday and we are going to have a challenge.

Vincent Van Gogh Sunflowers

The size of Van Gogh's Sunflower painting is 73 x 92 cm. It was made by oil paint, in 1888.

Sunflowers are very big and yellow and when they grow old they turn orange. But when the Sunflowers are very very old they turn brown. There are some old one and young Sunflowers that he drew and painted.



I like the Vincent Van Gogh Sunflowers painting because he used light colours. Yellow is a very bright colour. When the Sunflowers turn brown that means, that they are starting to get really old.


I feel happy when I look at the amazing sunflowers from Vincent Van Gogh. It makes me happy.

Vincent Van Gogh felt happy when he was painting his sunflowers.

Art Alive

In our school assembly this morning, heaps of teachers were dressed up like an artists.The teachers were dressed up because our topic was called art alive.


Mr Marks and Mr Sommerville drew a pig and a duck but Miss King did not like it. So they drew a car Miss King said to us do you like it? We said ‘yes’, but actually it was pretty bad.


Mrs Barks was talking to us and the pictures were alive. We were laughing because she did not know that the pictures were alive.

Mrs Bark’s pictures coming alive was pretty funny. She said “Why are you laughing?”. But she did not know they were alive behind her back.

Frogs

Frogs have good eyes.The frogs look up down and ahead unlike us.Frogs have really big eyes so they can see where they are going.

The frogs legs are so bouncing.The frogs legs are green and some frogs legs are spotty.The frogs have so slimey and flexible legs.

The frogs eat flies for morning tea and dinner.The frogs really like eating bees and butterflies.Frogs insets on land.

The frogs need to be in a wet place.They need to breath out of water.

Frogs have different eyes.Their eyes are big and bulging so they can see well.

If you see a frog don’t leave it in the sun.Put it in the water so it can not dry up and die.

Ane cool camp

Year 5 and 6 had a good time at camp they packed their bag for camp.They had camp On Wednesday.

I was looking forward to Get lost.Get lost was cool and fun it is like playing amazing race.

The funny thing was when Ata and Mele fell out of the kayak and got wet.Then Mele went to go get changed because she got cold.

My goal was to get better at fixing the box together again with my team.But we did not finish fixing the box because the bell rang to go home.It was a good time with my friends playing Got lost.

At the end of the camp was so cool we did heaps of cool fun games with our team at the end of camp.

Taniwha Trouble

I have been reading Taniwha Trouble by Alan Bagnall. A Taniwha is a Maori creature found in water.

On Wednesday we have a camp for year 5 and 6.

I am looking forward to swimarama.
Because the hydroslide.


I am scared to do kayaking.
Because I don't want to fell out.

My goal is to not be anxionus at kayaking.

On Friday Ms Muliaumasealii comes on Thursdays to.Ms Muliaumasealii is a really cool art she tells us what we do like Vision boards it really cool to do that with a Samoan teacher.We like her coming to our class and tell us what to do.
